If you are reading this article, it’s may be because the purpose of your life is to successfully develop your business internationally. But this is unfortunately the case for only a few small companies.
We think that every business whose products are worth it has the right, if not the duty, to export. But it is clear that going abroad still remains a vague and elusive notion. Exporting would be a mysterious blessing fallen from the sky on a handful of lucky entrepreneurs. And when we’re talking about the right to export, we mean the right to receive from those who are already exporting the spirit of conquest that must be cultivated. It is necessary to exercise minds to look internationally, especially those of the younger generations.
At the heart of globalization, the days are numbered. The clock is ticking. At this very moment, thousands of human beings are being born across the world. That’s wonderful. But unfortunately, even if we share the same planet, the rank of nations in this world matters. Not in terms of wealth, economic comparison but creativity, innovation, invention, intellect to improve the quality of our lives and therefore more happiness for society at large.
Beautiful ideas must shine everywhere
Any country has a soul, an ethic, a spirit, a heart that deserves to shine throughout the world. We can act to transform the attitudes, the conceptions and the way of being of our businesses. Naturally, this is based on methods to be used, to be learned. We must isolate the cultural factors that lead our local companies to isolation, eliminate them and cultivate the spirit of international conquest at all costs. Such is our cause.
A large number of studies show that unhappy people tend to be too focused on themselves, their problems, to withdraw, to refuse everything. Conversely, happy people are sociable, flexible, creative and better able to cope with the difficulties of our lives.
The goal must be to open up to the world without hesitation and understand how to move towards a flexible, creative company ready to endure failures.
The sources of change
It is not the increase in turnover, the number of orders which in absolute terms makes the success of companies at export. These positive results are only the consequences of deeper changes in the culture of the company. By constantly comparing ourselves too much with figures, we forget to compare certain much more tangible elements, quality of the group, willing for hard teamwork, desire to progress, desire for the group to be together, to carry out joint projects, to invent its own future…
If we stay in the comparison of numbers, we will always find better, brighter, stronger, bigger, more beautiful. This generates frustration, stress, tension and ultimately the physical and moral disengagement of the whole group. The way for change go first through the reversal of our principles of value creation.
Always more is not necessarily always better
It is better to introduce contentment processes internally that stimulate creativity in front of problems posed to the company. It is necessary to supervise the collaborators and to put them back in a positive dynamic of a personal search for happiness in the business approach. Desire to exchange with the world, desire to understand cultural differences, desire to understand the needs expressed, desire to translate these needs into concrete and innovative offers, desire to do better… not more.
Two methods to choose from
- Wanting to get from others everything you dream of controlling and possess. In front of disappointments, you are going straight into a wall.
- To structure processes, support people and appreciate the results obtained, even modest ones, and find creative ways for improvement with your collaborators.
Working on mental posture remains the most effective way to avoid and bypass the obstacles to change. We must collectively find external sources of satisfaction, examples to follow, inspiring international success stories. Yes, it is still possible to be a small company in the middle of nowhere and to be world number one.
The sense of our own value, culture, is an important source of international development. Small companies remain isolated entities within the immense community of other globalized entities. The different cultures we have around the world are a strong asset we share around the world. Our differences offers enough to give a certain value to our actions. It is up to us to accept diversity as an asset, to make it a strong pillar of our exchanges and enrichment.
Training minds
As in high-level sport championship, the path to internationalization comes from the quality of your team and individualized training. Success is the mind. The mind is a thousand different thoughts. We must use them, maintain them, eliminate some of them, create new ones. This is the role of any manager.
The art of exporting is therefore learning.
We must learn how each of our actions is beneficial to business. If we want to sell in a specific country, we must logically seek out the necessary information and multiply the influential circumstances that will lead to the realization of sales, customer satisfaction and repeat sales.
Mental discipline
If exporting is due to the simple fact of causing circumstances that influence sales, why don’t entrepreneurs do it ?
Because exporting requires transforming the way we look at the world, therefore our way of thinking, and therefore the organization of the company. It’s not simple.
Two methods to apply
- Just don’t think about the consequences of the change and get started, but this method may not be the safest.
- Every day, motivate yourself to change the course of things and think about not wasting one more day. You have to use your time to train the process of provoking positive events. This requires strong mental discipline.
“Training and managing your own mind is the most important skill you could ever own, in terms of both happiness and success.”
